I、Introduction

UESTC Chinese language program / pre-university program provides international students a diverse range of Chinese language and culture courses. The program offers curriculums that help undergraduates, postgraduates and other learners to gain knowledge and skills necessary for living in China, working on their degrees in Chinese and communicating effectively in Chinese-medium workplaces.

The program is developed and delivered by a team of professional teachers, who have rich experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language for decades. Many of them taught Chinese in the USA, African and European countries.

Every fall semester we offer a 1-year (2 semesters) HSK-4 oriented class for Chinese beginners. Besides, you will have chances to join abundant well organized culture activities.

II、Three levels of Chinese language learners

Fall semester 2017

Class1: HSK Level 1-3 (for beginners)

Class2: HSK Level 3-4 

Spring semester 2018

Class1: HSK Level 3-4 

Class2: HSK Level 4-5

Class3: HSK Level 5-6 

Note: Chinese beginning class is only offered every fall semester; For not-beginners, an entry exam or oral interview will be scheduled.

2. Good health condition;

3. Have attained a senior high school diploma

V、Application Period

Chinese Language Program：

Application Period: December 20th, 2016 to December 20th, 2017

1. For fall semester, please apply before June 30th;

2. For spring semester, please apply before December 20th of the previous year;

Pre-University Program：

Application Period: December 20th, 2016 to June 30th, 2017 (Same with the undergraduate program)

VI、Cost

Tuition fee: 7000RMB/semester

Accommodation on campus (double room): 3000RMB/semester

Note: 

1. Single rooms can not be offered. 

2. No scholarships available for Chinese language/ Pre-University students. 

VII、Application Materials

Please prepare the following documents while applying.

1) One photocopy of your valid national passport;

2) CV;

3) If you are not in China, please provide the Physical Examination form. If you are already in China, the valid visa page is required;

The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid.

Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.

Pleases keep the original copy of the Form for school registration.

4) Others: kinds of certificates, including sports, arts and other relevant certificates, are warmly welcome.
